TUTTOMercatoWEB are reporting that Arsenal are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon’s 23-year-old central midfielder, Joao Mario.
The Portuguese international, who has been capped in the national team, most recently against Belgium in March, is attracting attention from the north London side, who are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer,

Mario has five goals and nine assists from midfield this season in the Primeira Liga, in which he has made 29 appearances. It is clear from those statistics that he is very creative and attack-minded, which is something Arsene Wenger is clearly excited by.
However, the player is still reasonably young and inexperienced at the highest level despite his obvious talents. The Premier League is an exceptionally difficult league to play in, especially if you are still developing as a player.

Therefore, people may suggest that this type of player might not be what is required by Wenger, who perhaps should instead be looking at someone with more experience at the highest level.
