It was a rough day at the office for the Gunners, where they dropped two vital points at the Boleyn Ground in east London when they needed all three in order to stay in the title race.
After getting out to a quick 2-0 start thanks to Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez, Andy Carroll replied with three unanswered goals in the span of 10 minutes, which left Arsenal with no confidence or momentum, but luckily for them, an Özil delivery led to a Laurent Koscielny goal to level it up before the final whistle.
Arsene Wenger had his men attacking very hard, but without the height of Per Mertesacker in the back line, it was hard for the team to deal with crosses, which led to two of Carroll’s three goals. For a team that should be fighting for the top spot in the Premier League, the inept aerial defending is a definite cause for concern.
Let’s take a look at the three stars of the match from Saturday’s match.
