Arsenal training report: Johnson and Hinds join in as Ramsey returns

Arsenal trained at London Colney on Friday afternoon ahead of their trip to Upton Park against West Ham United.

The trip to the Boleyn marks the final time that the north London side will visit there, as the Hammers move to the Olympic Stadium in the new season to play in front of a much grander crowd.

Good news came in the form of an Aaron Ramsey return to full training after he picked up an injury against Hull City a month ago. Mathieu Flamini was also involved after his own injury issues.

The returns of the two leaves just Arsenal without just Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere – the latter two are set to feature for the under-21’s against Newcastle United on Friday night.

Youngsters Kaylen Hinds and Chiori Johnson impressed on Monday night against Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup semi-final at the Emirates and were rewarded for their good performances by training with the first-team.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck and co. also trained, as did Petr Cech, who is expected to be involved this weekend against West Ham.

Arsenal will aim to become the first side to beat the east London side at Upton Park since Bournemouth did so in August.
