They started well however, getting a goal inside five minutes through Alexis Sanchez, who met a floated Alex Iwobi cross with is head which was well saved by Heurelho Gomes, only for the Chilean to follow it up with his first ever goal for the club with his left foot.
On the stroke of half-time, it was Iwobi who scored his first ever Premier League goal at the Emirates Stadium after Alexis turned provider and the two combined once again, this time from the right as Arsenal’s second most expensive player of all time played a low cross into the free Nigerian who coolly slotted beyond the hapless ‘keeper.
It took them no less than five minutes after the break to make it three, with a poor clearance from Watford seeing Hector Bellerin with the chance to volley it on his left foot beyond Gomes, with a slight deflection from Ben Watson helping the ball along its way.
