Eleven players who should leave Arsenal on loan this summer

Arsenal have sent a number of players out on loan in recent seasons to great effect. Francis Coquelin to Charlton Athletic, Hector Bellerin to Watford and Jack Wilshere to Bolton Wanderers are three that immediately spring to mind.

All three are now first-team regulars when fit, and that’s in no small part because they were allowed to leave the club at a young age and fight to prove why they deserve a shot at the highest level despite their tender ages.

The likes of Gedion Zelalem, Jon Toral and Chuba Akpom are all away on loan at the moment, and are all tipped for great futures.

Sending players away to gain competitive football is important and can work.

It also has it’s downfalls however, let’s take a look at Serge Gnabry. The German talent is a good footballer in a key stage of his development, yet West Bromwich Albion wasted his talents, leaving him with a setback.

Yaya Sanogo at Ajax arguably the same, he was sent to the Dutch club to poor effect, he had no impact and lost a lot of confidence, which he could be recovering at Charlton in the latter stages of the season.

Read Arsenal have taken a look at 11 players who should leave the north London club next season on loan deals.
