Arsenal and Manchester City have both suffered a setback in their mission to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco this summer, according to the Daily Express.
Both clubs would be forgiven for thinking that they could sign him as he has failed to make an impact on the first-team this season, with players like James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and Mateo Kovacic strongly overshadowing him at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, the Spaniard recently revealed that he wishes to stay with Real Madrid despite the lack of playtime following getting put up for sale by senior figures at the club.

The 23-year-old from Spain has scored 14 times in 91 games after signing for £30 million in the summer of 2013 from Malaga. It is reported that Isco told officials at the club that he wants to fulfill his contract, which runs out in 2018. Meaning he is willing to play another two years in Spain before considering a move to the Premier League.

Isco has scored four goals this season, assisting a staggering 12 this season and is expected to be included in Vicente del Bosque’s Euro 2016 squad.
