After only spending £10 million last summer, multiple reports have suggested Arsenal will spend big in this summer’s transfer window.
One of the positions Arsenal are desperate to fill is apparently centre midfield and today it has been reported on Sky Sports that Arsenal will offer £35 million for Granit Xhaka.

Without Santi Cazorla, Arsenal have really suffered from a lack of passing ability from central positions. Furthermore, Arsenal lack any physicality in the midfield without Francis Coquelin. At 6’1″, Xhaka not only provides a physical edge but he is also very adept with the ball at his feet.
The Swiss international has been one of the standout performers in a Borussia Monchengladbach side, which sits fifth in the Bundesliga.
Although,Mohammad Elneny has played well as of late, Arsenal have not had a commanding physical presence since Patrick Viera.
At just 23 years old, it would seem that Xhaka has his best years ahead of him and could well be an ideal signing for Arsene Wenger.
Although Arsenal have a multitude of central midfielders, the position still seems weak and players such as Mikel Arteta are expected to leave in the summer.
