Arsenal set to award Iwobi with new contract
Arsenal are set to award Alex Iwobi with a new contract after the youngster’s recent performances in the first team, according to Paul Hirst of The Times.
The 19-year-old was man of the match in the recent win over Everton, just a few days after he played well against Barcelona at the Camp Nou and despite him only recently signing a contract with the club.
According to the report, Arsenal will award Iwobi with a £10,000-a-week contract which he very much deserves after making 14 first team appearances this season.
The youngster played youth football for England before choosing to play at full international level for Nigeria, the country of his birth and the team that his cousin, Jay-Jay Okocha, represented with distinction.
Iwobi is set to be part of the Arsenal team for the rest of the season and if he does reach his potential, £10,000-a-week could prove to be a bargain.
