Everton boss Roberto Martinez has hailed the impact Arsene Wenger has had at Arsenal, describing the Frenchman as an ‘inspiration’.
The two sides meet on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park in the Premier League, with the north London side in desperate need of the three points if they’re to mount any genuine title challenge with just nine games left of the current campaign.

Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League behind league leaders Leicester City and second place Tottenham Hotspur, with the potential to be a whopping 14 points behind the Foxes by the end of the weekend, should the north London side fail to beat Everton and Leicester do manage to defeat Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference, as reported by Sky Sports News, Martinez backed Wenger and criticised those calling for him to be sacked .

It just shows you the times that we live in.
It’s a need to criticise the losing team. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done at a football club, the modern game is useless. Everyone knows better than you, and that’s disappointing.
You can see what Wenger has done at Arsenal. He has been inspirational for many managers. I think it’s a very strong challenge for any individual. He is constantly innovative. These people don’t come along too often.

Arsenal face Everton on Saturday at Goodison Park, with the task of stopping the in-form Romelu Lukaku set to provide difficult.
