With the current season drawing ever closer to its end, the transfer rumours have started circulating once more and yet again the Gunners have been linked with Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Football Insider claim that Arsenal will step up their interest in the former Real Madrid star after it emerged that the centre forward has refused to enter contract negotiations to extend his current deal.
Higuain has been in fine form for Napoli this season, scoring 26 times in 32 appearances for the club and may well be the player that Arsenal will turn to in order to fix their current striker issue.

With Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea also rumoured to be observing Higuain’s situation, it is believed that the Gunners will be forced to hand over upwards of £73.9m in order to secure his signature.
The potential deal would make him one of the most expensive players in history and while Arsenal wouldn’t be happy to pay such an exorbitant fee, they may well be able to cut a deal for cheaper with the Napoli board remaining anxious over the player’s future.
