Picture Special: Arsenal crash out of FA Cup at hands of Ighalo and Guedioura

Another game has been played and yet again, Arsenal have let themselves down. As current title holders of the FA Cup and given their unforgivable form in recent weeks, fans were expecting their side to show up and put in a solid performance against a Watford side that they really should be brushing aside.

However, as has been seen since the beginning of the new calendar year, the Gunners lacked bottle again. They found themselves two goals down early in the second half and only managed to claw one goal back.

Fingers will certainly be pointed Arsene Wenger’s way but a lot of the criticism must be shown towards the players. They had ample opportunities in both halves to put the game to rest and secure their place in the semi-final, yet poor finishing and a lack of composure resulted in Arsenal once again suffering a loss. Clearly things need to change if they want to put up any sort of fight for the rest of the Premier League campaign and fans will be hoping that their side can snap out of their stuttering form to challenge once more for the Barclays Premier League crown.

matchday.
