What is Calum Chambers’ best position?

Calum Chambers has already proven himself to be a very, very good footballer.

He’s more than capable physically, good on the ball, a decent defender, has somewhat of a goalscoring touch and perhaps most importantly, is extremely versatile.

The ex-Southampton man has yet to affirm his place in the side this season, and is unlikely to do so. While a loan move will not solve his progress, Chambers has been utilised in the FA Cup and has been brought on a number of times in the Premier League.

The versatility could turn out to be a hindrance, however, just look at Phil Jones. A young defender signed for Manchester United as a central defender, but because of the England international’s ability to play in a number of roles, his best position has yet to be found and his stock has taken a hit.

It’d be awful for that to happen to Chambers – a player with so much talent and ability, so where could he best be utilised?

Let’s take a look.
