Arsenal have announced that Mesut Ozil has been voted Vitality Player of the Month, for his stellar performances during February.

The German was awarded his fourth award this season after a fine second month of the year, in which he scored on two occassions and bagged another couple of assists.

Ozil scored a fine effort with his weaker foot against Bournemouth before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s strike sealed the three points early last month. Against Leicester City, it took until the 95th minute for a free-kick from the German to find the head of Danny Welbeck, who put the ball beyong Kaspar Schmeichel, sealing a vital victory.

Despite losing by three goals to two at Old Trafford last Sunday, the 27-year-old once again assisted Welbeck from a free-kick, before scuffing an effort beyond David de Gea to give the Gunners some hope.

It was a fantastic February for Ozil personally, who took the majority of votes with 36%, ahead of Petr Cech with 36% in second place.
