Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
Petr Cech will continue in goal, no doubting this one.
He’ll prove vital over the next week, with the trip across north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon expected to prove a difficult game.
Right back: Hector Bellerin
Bellerin didn’t have his best game on Sunday and was tested throughout by Memphis Depay.
The Spaniard will, obviously, stay in the team, though.
He’s the best option Arsenal have and a good game will give him much needed confidence.
Centre back: Per Mertesacker
The German will likely come back into the team on Wednesday, having been dropped for the trip to Manchester last weekend.
Gabriel has only just come back from injury and can’t be expected to play.
Centre back: Laurent Koscielny
Koscielny is a great defender and was not too bad against United, but his partnership with Gabriel has not blossomed the way some would have hoped.
The Frenchman is the club’s best defender and will prove vital in the title run-in.
Left back: Nacho Monreal
The recently turned 30-year-old was another who had a disappointing afternoon at Old Trafford last weekend.
He’s a good, consistent defender, a lapse in performance is expected.
It won’t take much for Monreal to come back into form, so no worries about this selection.
Centre midfield: Francis Coquelin
Coquelin was really, really good against United.
He made a number of vital tackles, interceptions and a fantastic block that was goal bound.
The 24-year-old only recently came back from injury and has looked just as good as he did before.
Centre midfield: Aaron Ramsey
Ramsey is quite out of form.
He was good against Barcelona and it was expected he’d crack on, but against United he looked a shadow of the player he knows he can be.
It was disappointing, but he’s one of the club’s fittest and most athletic players.
He’ll continue alongside Coq.
Right wing: Joel Campbell
Why was Joel not brought on against United?
It doesn’t really make any sense, he deserved to start let alone be brought off the bench.
In any case, Theo Walcott is severely lacking in form and with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain no longer an option because of injury, the Costa Rican will likely be brought into action.
Attacking midfield: Mesut Ozil
Ozil, despite not playing well on the whole, scored and bagged an assist against the Red Devils.
He’s up to 18 assists and five goals, not bad numbers for the fantastic German.
If Arsenal are to have any success this season, he’ll be key.
Left wing: Alexis Sanchez
What’s going on with Alexis?
He looks tired, lackadaisical and confused in the final third.
It all seems a bit too rushed.
Class and quality are permanent, however. He’s out of form, but he remains a fantastic footballer and if he contributes a bit more, could go on a run that helps the Gunners to lift the title in May.
Centre forward: Olivier Giroud
Giroud will be brought back into the XI.
He should’ve started against United ahead of Walcott, who was poor.
In any case, the Frenchman will be brought back into the starting team and needs to score a goal.
