Arsenal youngster Julio Pleguezuelo has confirmed his interest in leaving the club on loan next season.
The 19-year-old has been in fantastic form and is a regular for the under-21s, currently captaining the side, but has yet to make the step-up into first-team action since joining the club.
Pleguezuelo is a versatile defender who can play amongst the entire back line as well as in midfield, and has trained with the first-team for much of the 2015/16 campaign.
As reported by the club’s official website, the ex-Barcelona defender and La Masia graduate claimed that having evaded his injury problems, he is ready to make the step up into first-team action.

I really benefit from training with the first team because the pace and technical level is so much higher. This year has been a very good year for me after the injuries I have suffered in previous seasons.
I have not missed a game or training and so I have been able to develop and improve. I have done a lot of work in the gym and I feel stronger and faster and better prepared to prevent injuries. Because I am playing and training regularly I have improved my technical ability.
We are currently top of the under-21 league and I believe we can go on to win it. I have not yet travelled with the first team and my hope is that I will do so between now and the end of the season and have a good pre-season and hopefully go out on loan next year to gain first-team experience.

Pleguezuelo will hope to be like a number of other Arsenal stars who have left the club on successful loan spells and returned to find their feet at the club, with the likes of Francis Coquelin at Charlton Athletic and Jack Wilshere at Bolton Wanderers.
