# Arsenal put on red alert by Gundogan

Arsenal have been put on alert regarding the services of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The German international, [according to *BILD*](https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/borussia-dortmund/plant-schon-mit-dem-guendogan-ersatz-44584896,var=x,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html), has confirmed that he has no intention of remaining with the club and will not sign a contract extension.

Gundogan has been heavily linked with a move away from the club and in the summer reportedly agreed a contract with Manchester United, only for Dortmund to persuade him to remain in the Bundesliga for the time being.

With the 25-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer of 2017, a number of sides, including Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Juventus are all set to scrap for the player’s signature.

Gundogan has become one of the most highly sought after midfielders in the world and with a number of clubs vying for his signature, Thomas Tuchel could command a decent fee, rather than waiting for the German international’s contract to expire, thereby losing him on a free.
