Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has claimed that the Gunners had no room for error, after their 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side beat the Cherries thanks to strikes from both Mesut Ozil and a first ever away goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, putting them just five points behind league leaders Leicester City.
Speaking after the game, as reported by the club’s official website, Ramsey admitted that Arsenal needed the win ‘badly’.

We need that badly. We realised what Leicester did yesterday and we needed to close that gap so it was important to get back to winning ways.
Although Eddie Howe’s side were defeated in their efforts, Ramsey claimed that the Gunners were forced to stay solid defensively throughout.
They have proved that all season with the type of football they play. They like to get it down and play around teams and they showed that. I think we dominated midfield well in the first half and we got a couple of goals which won the game.
It was important to stay defensively solid. I think we did that today with the amount of chances they had.
With Leicester keeping their good form throughout the campaign after a win over Manchester City early on Saturday afternoon, the 24-year-old admitted that Arsenal had to keep up the heat on their rivals.

There was no room for error today and I think the boys responded really well. We got back to winning ways and we have a big game against them next week. I’m sure that will be one everyone is interested in seeing so hopefully we can keep this run we are on.
It was important to bounce back from the few results we have had of late. I think that we needed to do that especially with the result that Leicester got. It was important to stay within touching distance of them and it will be an interesting game with them next week.
What they have done this season is quite remarkable but we will need to be right on it to get three points. Hopefully the momentum we have we can take into that game and come away with a big victory there as well.

Arsenal face Leicester next Sunday in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in what could prove a title deciding fixture.
