# Bellerin talks Bournemouth win and catching Leicester

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has claimed that the Gunners were forced to be at their creative best by Bournemouth, who consistently tested the visitors to the Vitality Stadium throughout the 90 minutes.

Despite the Cherries’ best efforts, quickfire goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain secured the three points for the north London side, who moved just five points behind league leaders Leicester City.

After the victory in the south coast, the 20-year-old Spaniard spoke to the media regarding the win and admitted, [as reported by the club’s official website](https://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20160207/-it-was-hard-we-were-really-creative-), that it was a difficult but deserved win.

> *We knew it was going to be a hard game but we also knew if we could score at the beginning of the game then it would be easier. That is what we did and we were really creative in the first half. We probably dropped a little bit after that in the second half because we gave them a lot of chances.*
>
> *It was very important. We need to try and win every game and we knew this was going to be hard. They play good football but I think the team was on the job and we did well.*

With the Gunners suffering recently in terms of goals, Bellerin claimed that it was a big confidence boost, while looking ahead to next Sunday’s fixture, which features the top of the table Foxes visiting the Emirates Stadium in a top of the table clash.

> *I think it is important to boost the confidence of the team because when you don’t score goals in a few games then sometimes it can get to your head, but it was a great response by the team and it gave us a lot of confidence to play relaxed and get a win.*
>
> *I think for us, every single game is crucial. We need to think game by game, it does not matter \[who you play\] and you need to get the three points.* Obviously *it is going to be one of the most important ones but you need to keep playing like that in every game.*
