Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey spoke to the media following the Gunners’ disappointing 0-0 draw against Southampton in the Barclays Premier League. The Welshman played the full 90 minutes in the exciting yet bitterly frustrating fixture that saw the north London side slip down to fourth in the league table.
When speaking about the game, Ramsey admitted, as reported by the club’s official website, that the result was unfortunate for the Gunners as nothing that they did seemed to come off.
It’s obviously disappointing to draw the game. We want to win our home games and we felt like we needed to bounce back from having lost against Chelsea. It wasn’t to be today. We’re obviously gutted but there’s still a long way to go and we’ll have to bounce back now.
Southampton ‘keeper Fraser Forster was awarded the Man of the Match award following an incredible game where he pulled off 12 saves to keep Arsene Wenger’s men at bay. However, Ramsey wasted little time on commenting that despite the goalkeeper’s good game, he is only focused on his next game.

He had a very good game. He pulled off some really good saves and we couldn’t beat him today. We have to move on now.
Arsenal endured a poor first-half in the game, but their performance improved after half-time and it looked on several occasions that they might find a break-through. Ramsey believes it was down to their continued focus after the half-time whistle, although he admitted that his team are still bitterly disappointed by the result and are looking ahead to the Bournemouth game.
Yeah, I think so. That’s something that we’re going to have to improve on – coming out of the blocks a little bit sharper. Like I said, we’re really disappointed and hopefully now we can bounce back against [Bournemouth] and Leicester.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, the midfielder argues that there are still plenty of games to win and that his team will be more focused than ever to pick up more points.
Yeah, many points are up for grabs. We’re going to have to bounce back and go on a bit of a run.
