Deadline Day came and went without Arsenal making any major signings. But it wasn’t because they didn’t try. According to the Mirror, Fulham were interested in obtaining 20-year-old winger Serge Gnabry from the Gunners, who in turn wanted 16-year-old starlet Ryan Sessegnon.
However, the west London side couldn’t quite be lured by the bait because Sessegnon is a highly regarded left sided prospect, drawing comparisons to Gareth Bale.

Charlton and Fulham also expressed interest in Gnabry, who cut short his season-long loan to West Brom but a deal with either of the clubs failed to materialise.
Arsenal top the list of clubs vying for Sessegnon, who is also the captain of England’s under-16s, and are likely to try and get their man this summer.
The inability to land Sessegnon comes on the heels of Arsenal’s other failed Deadline Day bid for Leicester City’s talented left back, Ben Chilwell.

Although Arsene Wenger was unable to make these deals, it is clear that he is actively looking to improve the club, no matter what the time frame.
