Bellerin – We are best in the league when we’re in sync

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has claimed that when his side are ‘in sync’, they are the best in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has been in hugely impressive form over the past 14 months, stealing the experienced Mathieu Debuchy’s place in the defence and since, has not looked back.

Despite being just 21-years-old, Bellerin is among the most consistent and reliable performers in the side, with his attacking and defensive contributions constantly improving week by week.

Speaking about the Gunners, Bellerin, as reported by the Mirror Online, claimed that despite some poor losses to the likes of Southampton and Chelsea earlier this season, they have shown that they are good enough to contend with the best sides in the division.

When the team is in sync, there’s no better team than us in the Premier League.

I think we just need to find that balance in some games when it’s sometimes is lacking. Sometimes it’s hard with injuries, people coming back, people on the bench.

We definitely need to respond after the Chelsea game and that’s something our team does really well — every time there’s a defeat or a result that we didn’t want to have, the team always responds straight away in the next game.

That shows the team’s character and is really important. It’s normal for big teams to lose games — especially in the Premier League when you have such quality in every single match.

It’s not just about how many times you fall down, but how quick you get up and our team does it really, really quickly. And I’m sure we can do it against Southampton.

I think the Man United game earlier in the season proved the point.

After not getting a good result in the Champions League, playing at home in a big game against United, in front of a big crowd, we produced one of the best 20 or 30 minute spells any team has had this season.

We are in a good position compared to where we were last year and you saw where we ended up last year [Arsenal finished third]. We played really, really good football last year, had a great finish and hopefully we can do it this season as well.

Arsenal face Southampton on Tuesday evening at the Emirates Stadium looking to regain top spot in the Premier League, knowing they face a big February, with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United just two of the games coming up.
