Arsenal are poised to complete the signing of Kelechi Nwakali, according to the player’s brother.
Kelechi’s older brother Allwell hinted that the player had chosen the north London side over a number of different clubs, including Manchester City, Bayern Munich and current UEFA Champions League holders and La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Nigerian attacking midfielder was a key member in the squad that won the November under-17 World Cup in Chile, alongside Samuel Chukwueze, who has also been touted to join the club.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Allwell confirmed that his brother’s move was the ‘right one’ for his development.

Arsenal are known to have a good programme for young players.
They develop young stars and enhance their careers, and the records are there for anyone to see and admit that we made the right and honourable choice.
If Nwakali does join the club this summer, he will undoubtedly go straight into the academy sides to work alongside the likes of Thierry Henry, Freddie Ljungberg as he bids to work his way into the Arsenal first-team in the coming years.
Nwakali will join Alex Iwobi as the club’s second Nigerian player, should he join this season.
