# Ozil buy-back clause leaked online

Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil has a buy-out clause, which Real Madrid can activate, according to a document revealed on the *Football Leaks* website, [as reported via the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/12119391/Mesut-Ozil-leaked-contract-reveals-Real-Madrid-have-buy-back-option-from-Arsenal.html).

As per the site, the German international, who has been in scintillating form this campaign, can be purchased back by his former employers for a fee of around €50m.

With the clause in place, the Spanish giants, currently managed by club legend Zinedine Zidane, are allowed to have a 48-hour first refusal option on Ozil. This means that if another club from the same league as Madrid agree a sale price with Arsenal, Los Blancos can step in and activate the clause, giving them the right to sign the 27-year-old.

It’s, however, unlikely that Ozil would rejoin Madrid, despite the buy-back clause, [with the German claiming he is happy at Arsenal](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3002299/Mesut-Ozil-happy-Arsenal-says-does-not-want-leave-Premier-League.html) and is ‘enjoying every day with the club’.

> *I am really happy at Arsenal and I want this to continue.*

> *I played in the Bundesliga and at Real Madrid. But the English Premier League is the strongest league in the world. Opponents never give up.*

Ozil was unable to help his side in their 1-0 loss to Chelsea at the weekend, leaving them three points behind first placed Leicester City in the Premier League.
