# Arsenal send scout to watch Benfica’s Guedes

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sent former player Luis Boa Morte to watch and report on Benfica star Goncalo Guedes.

According to *[Noticias as Minuto](https://www.noticiasaominuto.com/desporto/523524/goncalo-guedes-repreendido-sob-olhar-atento-de-boa-morte)*, the Frenchman sent the Sporting Lisbon coach to watch Guedes, with a view to potentially signing him.

Guedes has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the last six months, with Manchester United believed to be leading the race to acquire his signature.

At 19-years-old, the Portuguese winger is one of the hottest talents in Europe and with a number of sides after him, Benfica will not let him leave on the cheap.

Unfortunately for both Wenger and Boa Morte, Guedes was withdrawn at half time and therefore, could not display his full array of talents to the former attacking midfielder.

Guedes will without doubt be watched again by Boa Morte, who is believed to have watched a number of players for Wenger during his time in Portugal.
