New-Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has admitted he is delighted to have joined ‘one of the biggest clubs in the world’ in Arsenal.
The Egypt international joined the Gunners early on Thursday morning, with the fee believed to be in the region of £5m – although it could rise to around £7.4m with add-ons.
Speaking on joining the club, the 23-year-old claimed it is an ‘indescribable feeling’.

It is an indescribable feeling, I am really glad of course. Arsenal is one of the world’s greatest teams and I am very keen to participate positively with my new team, god willing and to give my best for the team and myself.
It is one of the biggest clubs in the world, I know everything about it and its players.
Arsenal is one of those teams everyone enjoys watching and of course I would love to play for such a great team.
I am hoping that we win the Premier League and cup this season, and the Champions League, god willing.
I am very keen to be a part of this achievement and to achieve what we’re looking for.

Elneny joins Arsenal at a time where the club are in dire need of an added dimension to the midfield, with the likes of Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin all sidelined, leaving Arsene Wenger with few options to place in the centre of midfield.
It’s likely that Elneny will slot straight into the centre of midfield alongside Aaron Ramsey, replacing Mathieu Flamini, whose contract with the club is up in the coming summer.
Whether Elneny is fit enough to start against Stoke City is yet to be seen, with Basel having had an international break, meaning the Egyptian has been without game time for some while.
