Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed that he will not be joining the north London side, after admitting he wants to remain with current side Borussia Dortmund.
The Gabonese forward has been in sensational form this campaign, scoring 18 goals in 17 league appearances and was recently voted African Footballer of the Year, boosting his price tag to a reported £40m.
Due to his impressive form, the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona have reportedly expressed an interest, with the Gunners willing to cough up the money required to acquire his services.
However, speaking to Sport Bild, the 26-year-old striker effectively ended any speculation linking him with a move away from the Bundesliga.
I still want to achieve lots with Dortmund.
I am here and nowhere else – not at Arsenal, not at Barcelona, not on the moon – you can see that.
The Gunners have a number of options up front including Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and the injured Danny Welbeck, they can also utilise the talents of Joel Campbell and Alexis Sanchez in the centre forward role where necessary.
