Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is a target for Italian giants Roma, the club’s general director Mauro Baldissoni has confirmed
It’s believed that the Frenchman is on his way out of the club, likely on a loan deal, with Roma the favourites to acquire his signature.
Twitter: Yesterday Roma general director Baldissoni mentioned Arsenal’s Debuchy as one of their targets in January during an interview (@DavidAmoyal)
The Italian side will have to pay a loan fee for Debuchy’s services, however, with £1m believed to be the amount that will be enough to keep him at the club until the end of the current campaign.
With the emergence of Hector Bellerin in the squad, the 30-year-old right-back has seen his opportunities severely limited over the past 14 months.

Arsene Wenger confirmed on Friday that Debuchy would be allowed to leave the club, with the emergence of next summer’s European Championship a main factor in the player’s want for more football.
The France international is also a target for Premier League sides West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.
