Arsenal’s loaned out German prodigy Serge Gnabry has endured a tough period at Tony Pulis’ West Brom side, having only featured three times all season. This is in part, due to the injuries that he picked up while at the club, as well as the issue he had when he originally signed on loan.
Recently, it had been reported that the Gunners had recalled Gnabry in order to offer him game time elsewhere, but now, Paul Stuart, writing for the Birmingham Mail, claims that Gnabry’s position is still in dispute, with West Brom at present, unwilling to allow the German to return to London.
Baggies manager Tony Pulis was asked about Gnabry’s position but remained adamant that he wouldn’t be drawn into a discussion on the matter.
I’m not going to get involved in that because the clubs are still talking.

Instead, Pulis went on to praise the young German for his commitment to the game and, despite his injuries, his desire to play every week.
Serge has been brilliant. He’s not played as many games as he would have wanted to play. But he’s been good to have around the place. He was very unfortunate because he came here injured and I think people forget that.
Once he was fit, fitting him into that team and what we were trying to do was difficult and then he picked up another injury so he’s had a bit of a topsy turvy start. For the kid, if you speak to him, he wants to play week in week out.
However, the Baggies manager argues that even with the youngster fit, it has been very difficult for him to find a place for him in the West Brom team.
It’s very difficult to guarantee someone that week in week out.
He picked up an injury before he came and he was a little bit weighty, a bit heavy and it took us a while to get him into that mode.

Elsewhere, reports have surfaced that the Baggies had been considering a move for out-of-favour Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy, however, Pulis denies that these rumours hold any truth.
I’ve not said a word to Arsenal and Arsenal have not said a word to me. So that’s a definite no.
