Arsenal put on alert by Imbula’s agent

Arsenal have been put on red alert by Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula’s agent, after he revealed the Portuguese club would be looking to offload the Frenchman.

The 23-year-old joined the Portuguese giants in July for roughly £15m but has failed to set in and set the world alight in the way they would have hoped he would, with Porto looking to cash in as soon as possible on Imbula’s services.

Having started just eight of Porto’s league games this season, the Frenchman will look to leave as soon as possible in order to stake his claim for the France squad next summer, with the European Championship looming.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Imbula in recent weeks, although reports a move for Mohamed Elneny would be completed in the coming days have been stronger.

Imbula’s agent Willy Ndangi put Arsene Wenger on red alert after admitting Porto no longer want his client at the club.

We know that Porto want to sell Giannelli.

At the moment we haven’t had any contact with other clubs, but we could talk to some sides starting from Monday.

With the likes of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla out injured for the foreseeable future, Wenger may well decide to add both Imbula and Elneny.
