With the January transfer window officially open, Arsenal are on the lookout for any potential players that could not only add depth to their squad but also add the extra quality that is needed to see them maintain their current position at the top of the Barclays Premier League table.
The Express report that the Gunners are monitoring the position of Nancy’s young Moroccan starlet Youssef Ait Bennasser. The 19-year-old has been instrumental in the French Ligue 2 side’s successful campaign. They currently sit at the top of the division and are hopeful of promotion to the top tier of French football.
Nancy’s successes are in no small part down to Bennasser’s contributions to the side. He has played in 17 out of a possible 19 games this season and in that time has offered a goal and two assists to his side.

At six feet tall he would be a strong presence in the heart of the Arsenal midfield should he be snapped up, but it is reported that the Gunners will face stern opposition from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, as well as French clubs Lille and Monaco.
It is unlikely that Nancy will let the youngster go so deep into their promotion push, but a purchase with an immediate return-loan for the rest of the season could see the Moroccan move to the Emirates.
