Five Things We Learned: Arsenal 1-0 Newcastle United

Arsenal broke in the new year with a 1-0 win at home against Newcastle United to put themselves two points clear at the top of the table.

The Gunners left it late and it was an ugly performance but they got the job done, with a second half goal from Laurent Koscielny the winner. The goal came from a corner, with Olivier Giroud winning the second ball after an attempted Newcastle clearance, as the ball fell to Koscielny, he needed no invitation to hit the ball first time and score his and Arsenal’s first goal of 2016.

Let’s take a look at five things we learned from this year’s first win.
