Arsenal’s first game of the new year came up against relegation battling Newcastle United, in which a win for the Gunners would mean top spot for another week. Arsenal had an amazing first 20 minutes, in which the away side hardly touched the ball. However, as the game progressed the north London side’s performance deteriorated and we would not see an opening goal until the 72nd minute, where Laurent Koscielny secured all three points for the Gunners, in what was overall a poor performance and a lucky win.
Not the best of games for Arsenal, but these are sort which clinch titles for the club. Here are how the players rated against Newcastle.
