Arsenal are interested in bringing Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani to the club, according to French news publication Buzzsport.
The 28-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the French giants, having failed to make the impact he would have liked to – and with Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic occupying the no.9 role, Cavani has had to reinvent his game on the left side of a talented front three.
However, PSG will reportedly look to cash in on Cavani at the end of the current campaign, with £47m believed to be the asking price for his services.
If the north London side can bring the ex-Napoli centre-forward in, he will provide Arsenal with another threat in the forward areas, with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott battling for the main striker role.
Arsenal also have Danny Welbeck to welcome back from injury in the coming months.
It’s believed that the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also interested in Cavani’s signature, meaning the Gunners will face some stiff competition for the Uruguayan’s signature.
