Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny has reportedly told Egyptian website Ahram Online that he has completed his medical with Arsenal.
The 23-year-old has been rumoured to join the club over the last three weeks, with the Gunners in dire need of a central midfielder to add some depth to the squad.

Elneny reportedly told Ahram Online that he completed his medical on Saturday, with the club waiting to confirm the deal in the coming days – once their packed schedule of fixtures over the Christmas period is complete.
With the north London side facing Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night, Arsene Wenger could reveal soon after the game that the deal for Elneny is complete.

It’s believed the signing of the Egyptian star will cost in the region of £5m and despite having featured for Basel in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season, will not be cup-tied.
Elneny could slot into midfield immediately alongside Aaron Ramsey, as he bids to make an impression on the Gunners faithful.
