Arsenal are now odds-on favourites at 10/11 with SkyBet to win the Premier League following their impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Emirates last night.
The Gunners sit two points behind table-toppers Leicester City and have lost just one of their last 11 league games. It is quite an achievement when looking at their current injury list which includes Sanchez, Cazorla, Wilshere, Coquelin, Welbeck, Arteta and Rosicky.
Midfielder Mesut Ozil has produced a number of fine displays this season which has already helped him to 15 assists – five behind the record held by Thierry Henry. His contribution last night against City proved why Jose Mourinho has previously hailed him as ‘the best number 10 in the world’.

It’s clear to also see the consistency of the team compared to their closest league rivals. Manchester City and Manchester United are performing below their best, whereas Chelsea are completely out of sorts. Arsenal are the only ‘top four’ side who have maintained a solid run of performances which has been rewarded with their current league position.
The last time Arsenal won the league, 2003/2004, they were in second place at Christmas and based on their recent form this season they deserve to be leading the market.
The side ahead of them, Leicester, are in the midst of an incredible period though questions must be asked as to how long that can go on for. If, or when, the time arrives, Arsenal will be on hand to take full advantage of the Foxes downfall and continue their quest in securing a first Premier League title since 2004.
