Arsenal are eyeing a move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka, according to the Daily Mail.
After injuries to Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla recently, Arsene Wenger is apparently concerned by his options in central midfield.
Jack Wilshere also remains injured and is unlikely to return before the end of January.

Wenger has been utilising a Mathieu Flamini/Aaron Ramsey midfield two due to all the absentees but is not convinced by its longevity.
23-year-old Xhaka has been linked to a number of clubs over the last few months.
Arsenal reportedly had the midfielder watched when his current side played Manchester City in the Champions League. His contract doesn’t end until 2019, however, and is said to be happy in the Bundesliga and with ‘Gladbach.

His stock has been growing steadily throughout his career, even more so since he joined Monchengladbach from Basel back in 2012.
He’s a regular for his national side, with 39 appearances already – helping them to qualification for Euro 2016.
Arsenal are also monitoring a number of other midfielders, including PSG’s Adrien Rabiot and Porto’s youngster Ruben Neves.
