According to El Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are close to sealing a £12.9 million transfer for Spanish winger Nolito.
Also a target for Barcelona, it is believed that the Gunners are winning the race to sign the Celta Vigo wide man, and have just to agree contract terms with the player.
The fee could have potentially been substantial for the 29-year-old if it were not for the £12.9 million release clause in his Celta contract.

The former Barcelona and Benfica player has a very consistent record in La Liga for Celta Vigo, scoring 34 times in 84 appearances for the club. Recently called up by Vicente del Bosque for the Spanish national side, Nolito would appear to fit in well with the ‘complete forward’ style Wenger appears to favour, having come out of the 2014-15 season having created the most chances in the League.
With only Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud fit, Arsene Wenger may be looking for a capable player to move up front in the January transfer window, and Nolito may fit the bill.

The move could prove unlikely however, with reports the Spaniard is interested in a contract extension with Celta.
