Five Things We Learned: Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal travelled to Villa Park on Sunday to face an Aston Villa side that are sat at the bottom of the Premier League table with only 6 points to their name. However, the Gunners knew a win would take them top of the League, for the next 24 hours at least.

The game started swimmingly for Arsenal, who were awarded a penalty within seven minutes, after Theo Walcott was brought down in the box. In-form Frenchman Olivier Giroud placed the ball on the spot, before slotting the ball calmly in the back of the net to mark his 50th Premier League goal, and his 14th this season in all competitions.

Arsenal doubled their lead later on in the half with a classic counter-attack goal, Mesut Ozil again with another assist, playing the ball across goal to Aaron Ramsey who put the ball past Brad Guzan.

What can we learn from the Gunners’ table-topping performance?
