# Bellamy – I would start Ramsey over Ozil

In his debut on *Sky Sports Monday Night Football*, Craig Bellamy [claimed that he believes fellow Welshman Aaron Ramsey should start in the middle](https://www.turkish-football.com/i-would-start-ramsey-in-the-middle-before-arsenal-star-ozil-says-former-liverpool-forward-bellamy/) over Mesut Özil.

Bellamy, 36, made the comment amid the German international’s glistening run of form, which has seen him grab an assist 12 times in 20 games this season.

> *I’ve known Ramsey since he was five years of age, I would play him central before I would play Ozil, I know this may be a difficult statement to make at the current time.*

Özil also got on the scoresheet in crucial games against Manchester United and Bayern Munich. He also played a starring role in the Gunners’ win over Sunderland, this past weekend.

The 3-1 win over the Black Cats came at a crucial time for Arsene Wenger’s side as the teams around them dropped points, Stoke City easily defeated a poor Manchester City and Manchester United’s barren run of form in front of goal continued, which sent them to second in the Premier League, just two points off leaders Leicester City.

Bellamy believes that his former teammate should start in the central attacking position in their north London side’s crucial UEFA Champions League game away to Olympiacos.

The former Welsh national team captain believes that Ramsey would score more goals than his teammate in the centre-forward position.
