Of the many rumoured transfer targets that ultimately failed to come off for Arsenal this summer, one of the more intriguing options was Real Madrid’s Isco. While it was thought that Arsène Wenger repeatedly attempted to lure the 23-year old playmaker to the Emirates, the Spanish giants were able to resist the Gunners’ overtures.
However, with playing time scant so far this season, the Spanish international is thought to be frustrated enough to leave the Spanish capital for greener pastures, and Arsenal are rumoured to be among the teams more than a little interested in the player.

According to Buzzsport, Real Madrid may be willing to accept a bid of around €50m for Isco, and Arsenal are said to be very willing to pay the amount. However, the same report suggests that the club will face stiff competition for Isco’s signature from the likes of Italian giants Juventus as well as Manchester City.
While Isco does not represent the defensive-minded midfielder that many desire, he is generally regarded as one of the more talented young playmakers in the world, and with injuries piling up in all parts of Arsenal’s midfield, Isco would represent a tantalising attacking option the manager.
