Arsenal are one of a host of Premier League clubs that are interested in Bordeaux’s central midfielder Henri Saviet.
According to the Mirror, the Senegal international will be available for £3.5 million in January and caught the eye of a number of scouts who were present to see him score for Les Girondins against Liverpool in their 2-1 Europa League loss last week.

It is something the 25-year-old will be capable of having started out as a winger and forward earlier in his career. This season though, he has been re-born in the centre of midfield.

Scouts from Everton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Swansea and Bournemouth were on Merseyside to watch him against Liverpool – not the sort of clubs Arsenal usually battle to beat for a player’s signature.
But the state of the Gunners’ injury crisis with Francis Coquelin confirmed to be out for three months and Santi Cazorla’s absence to be established with a similar ligament problem, then it may boil down to who is available for the north London club.
Saviet represented France at youth level but turned down the opportunity to play for the nation of his birth.
