Arsenal announce November Player of the Month

Arsenal have announced Mesut Ozil as their Vitality Player of the Month, claiming his second successive award.

The German had perhaps his best period at the club during November, and despite it being a poor month in terms of results, Ozil claimed two assists and scored twice.

Goals against Dinamo Zagreb and record-breaking assists against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion meant that Ozil claimed an overwhelming 87 per cent of the votes, with Alexis Sanchez and Petr Cech making up the top three.

Ozil broke a record for most consecutive games with seven assists in a row, but the unbelievable run was halted against Alex Neil’s side at Carrow Road last Sunday.

The Gunners face a tough December ahead, starting against Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium, before taking on Olympiacos in what will be the deciding game for Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League future this season. Arsene Wenger’s side then travel to Villa Park to face former Arsenal player Remi Garde’s Aston Villa, then play three games in seven days against Manchester City, Southampton and Bournemouth to see out the year.
