Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is to spend a week recuperating in Chile, after picking up what looked like a hamstring strain in the 1-1 draw with Norwich last Sunday at Carrow Road.
The 26-year-old was believed to be carrying an injury potentially picked up during the international break, but continued to feature for both club and country. Despite featuring at what looked his best level, Alexis is now reaping the repercussions of the perhaps ill-minded decision, with three weeks at a minimum the likely time he will spend on the sidelines.

Speaking to Radio Tele13, Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli admitted that he has contacted the Arsenal medical team regarding his recovery.
We have contacted the medical team at Arsenal, who gave him a week of treatment in Chile.
We have to see how it is [the injury] to know how quickly he can recover, but we are aware of everything and we’ll see if we can contribute to Alexis getting back on the pitch sooner.
It’s expected that Alexis will be back to face Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on 21st December – a potentially key fixture in the Premier League title race this season.

The Chilean’s recuperation time should see him relax and return to training fitter and ready for the important, second half of the season.
