The Arsenal medical staff have as many questions as answers heading into Saturday’s clash with relegation candidates Sunderland. The injury bug has hit the Gunners hard in recent weeks, and guessing the lineup for the upcoming Christmas period is a seemingly-hopeless exercise.
During the past weekend’s disappointing draw at Carrow Road against Norwich City, both Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez both had to exit due to injury concerns, while Santi Cazorla shook off a knock to finish the match, but is a concern for the Sunderland game.

According to Sky Sports, the Gunners will be monitoring Koscielny, Alexis, Cazorla, and Kieran Gibbs for their potential availability for the weekend.
The player seemingly most likely to play is Koscielny, as Arsenal’s staff has deemed his injury as minor and they hope that he returns to training by the end of the week. If he is able to do so, then he is likely to feature against Sunderland.
The medical team are also said to still be assessing both Cazorla and Alexis, who suffered knee and hamstring problems respectively.

Additionally, Kieran Gibbs has been unavailable for the past two matches due to a minor calf issue. However, he should return to full training during the week, with view to featuring this weekend.
