Arsenal keen to pursue PSG midfielder

Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen on pursuing a move for Paris Saint-Germain central midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The 20-year-old has been a regular for the French side this season and has made over 60 league appearances for them.

Despite this, competition in the form of Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi and Italian superstar Marco Veratti could see Rabiot leave for a new challenge, with Arsenal and north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur both supposedly interested, according to French news outlet Buzzsport.

Wenger is a known key admirer of the Frenchman and has been following his progress since he first broke into the PSG midfield.

Rabiot is also capped at under-21 level for France and could find himself battling his way into the senior side’s midfield for the European Championship in his home nation next summer.

With the Gunners facing a number of injuries at the moment to the likes of Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky, a move for Rabiot could act as cover and the Frenchman may possibly force his way into the first team picture if pursued by Wenger.
