Thierry Henry has launched an astonishing attack on his former boss Arsene Wenger, claiming that the Frenchman should have rested Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez against Norwich City.
Live on Sky Sports, after Arsenal’s disappointing draw with Norwich, Henry said that the 26-year-old should be better managed.
I thought, at the time, the game was won against Dinamo Zagreb. He scored, he had a good game and he didn’t get injured. With 20 minutes to go, take him out.

Henry then went on to question Wenger’s man-management skills, extraordinarily claiming he was scared to bench Alexis.
But I think you almost don’t have to ask him anything if you want to rest him. You need to go out and say nothing or, ‘I’m resting you today and that’s the way it is’.
Henry did have some sympathy for Wenger though, he looked back at his own time under the Frenchman and told the rest of the studio that he too would be furious to be told he can’t play.

I’m not a coach and I don’t know how it is. I don’t know the pressure of the players. I know I was a pain in the neck when you would take me out in the game.
Alexis has become an increasingly important player for the Gunners, but his international commitments have often been an issue.
Obviously I would like to think the 14 hours travelling, playing away with Chile for the World Cup in South America, doesn’t help.
For Arsenal, the Chilean has played 1,107 minutes of Premier League football this season, the most of any forward playing for a UEFA Champions League club. Alexis limped out after an hour with a hamstring injury against Norwich, leaving Joel Campbell as Arsenal’s only first team winger.
The north London club had looked to be in pole position for the title, however, injuries have yet again plagued their run in for the Christmas period. Key players such as Laurent Koscielny, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and club captain Mikel Arteta are all out, leaving Arsenal desperately stretched.
