Arsenal are set to join the race for highly rated Everton and England centre-back John Stones.
The 21-year-old was hotly tipped to join Chelsea in the summer, but after the move fell through, he remained at Everton. However, a host of top clubs are still chasing his signature, and now, Steve Stammers writing for the Mirror, claims that the Gunners are entering the race for the player.
Arsene Wenger has built a reputation over the years of purchasing players when they are still at a young age and nurturing them into world-class talents, and so his interest in Stones is somewhat expected.
Everton are likely to be wanting at least £30 million for Stones which is a large sum, but as recent seasons have shown, Wenger isn’t afraid to splash the cash when the right player pop-ups.

Elsewhere, Arsenal look set to highjack Tottenham’s bid for FC Basel’s promising young striker, Breel Embolo.
The young Swiss attacker has bags of potential, having scored eight times in his 17 appearances for Basel this season and could be a bargain if the Gunners can secure him for the right price.
