Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he ‘loves’ to watch Mesut Ozil play.
The German scored in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening, giving life to their UEFA Champions League hopes after a torrid start to the campaign.
Mesut Özil has had a hand in 20 goals (scored 3, assisted 17) in his last 25 appearances. Different gravity. pic.twitter.com/0eM18uamuC — Mesut Özil (@MesutOzilStats) November 24, 2015
With the German at the forefront of the Gunners’ season so far, BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand claimed that when the former Real Madrid midfielder is playing well, he is ‘like an artist’.
He’s someone you love watching play.
He’s like an artist, that left foot, he’s always looking for that incisive pass.
When it’s going well for him, he’s a beautiful player to watch.
Ozil has racked up an impressive tally of 11 assists this Premier League campaign, while getting amongst the goals after previously admitting he needed to increase his tally and become ‘more selfish’.

The German World Cup winner will look to continue his impressive start to the season and has the chance to break an assist record previously set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry – who bagged himself 20 assists in the 2002/03 Premier League campaign.
Arsenal next face Norwich City in the Premier League at Carrow Road and will look to get back to winning ways, after going two games without victory and losing to Tony Pulis’ stern West Bromwich Albion side.
