Wenger – Bad spell a good test for squad

Arsenal have picked up one point in their last two league games. Arsene Wenger believes the upcoming game against Dinamo Zagreb is the perfect test for his team.

After a disastrous start to their UEFA Champions League campaign, having lost the opening two fixtures, Arsenal must win both their remaining games and hope Bayern Munich do them a favour in beating Olympiacos.

In the last two games we have dropped points, we know as well that before that we won five games on the trot and you can go through a spell like that – it is how you respond to that and that is what makes your season. That is why it is a good test for us. It is true that we need a positive result from Bayern, but that only has an impact if we win, so let’s focus on what we can do.

The north London side have had to contend with a number of crucial injuries recently, which has affected the team’s form. The Arsenal boss believes with a full strength squad they could challenge for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

I believe that when everybody is back we have a squad to compete in both [the Premier League and Champions League]. If we go through now in the Champions League we can be very dangerous for everybody.

With the hopes of progression out of their hands all Arsenal can do is focus on their own games and win the remaining two fixtures in the group.
