Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has claimed that Arsenal can have no excuses after their defeat at the hands of West Brom on Saturday.
The Gunners lost 2-1 to the Midlands side and missed their chance to go top of the table. A key point in the match was a penalty miss from Santi Cazorla. Had he converted the effort, Arsenal would have drawn level. Flamini had sympathy for his teammate’s miss.

The penalty, it can happen and Santi falling, there is nothing you can do.
Flamini has not faulted the team for effort but is disappointed that the Gunners couldn’t take anything from the match.
We tried and tried and tried until the last minute but we can’t give any excuses – today we lost the three points. It’s a shame because we started the game well, we went 1-0 up and then after they scored [twice] before half time it became more difficult for us.
We tried to push on in the second half, we had some opportunities but of course it is disappointing because we didn’t get any points.
The Frenchman says that Arsenal need to move on from this defeat and prepare for their next game, a UEFA Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, a must win game.

Sometimes it happens and now it is important to recover and focus on the next game.
Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, below Manchester City on goal difference, United in second and two points away from Leicester City who sit top of the table.
After Zagreb in the Champions League, Arsenal will travel to newly promoted Norwich, a team with only one win in their last seven games.
